Just sharing my memorable Soccer practices for this school year so far...

1. First practice for this school year - it was a Saturday and it was held at La Purisima. That day was supposed to be the try-outs for all events. Many came but mostly the old ones. I sprained my left ankle that day and it was creepy to think that I sprained my right ankle during last year's try-outs.

Oh yeah. Before going to LaPu, my dad asked me one weird thing:

Dad: Porke man ta llama kunel try-outs, try-OUTS si kere man gale kamo entra? Porke hende TRY-IN?

CORNY.

2. It was a Saturday and it was held at grand stand this time. I thought I was the only girl who would come to practice since I was the only girl when I arrived with Lance Jimenea [IV-Ignatius]. I even thought that practice was going to be cancelled because it was raining the whole morning but it still pushed through.

It wasn't raining when we started practicing. We practiced with kids of the ZAFA team. They were good and we felt like speck of bugs being stepped on. HAHA.

Later that day, the other girls arrived and I felt so relieved at the sight of them. :D Much much later, we were separated from the boys. Coach separted us and merged with the College players and we played against little kids. I was made a fullback, a position I'm not really used to [I play for either forward or goalkeeper] but I guess I did good. Oh yeah. It was raining when we started playing.

Another thing. I had fever that night.

3. It was a Wednesday and practice was held at school. Coach wasn't there so the boys' "team captain" came into the picture. 2 new girls from the 3rd year tried out for the team: Dordylle and Fher. They were shy at first and we played Pachangga with them. Erold tried to help us out by teaching them some of the basic stuff. But later, we felt OUTCASTED. Let's just say that the "team captain" of the boys' team wouldn't want us to play. So we walked out. Arvey Dolotina [IV-Ignatius] kind of begged to let us play but some new guy screamed back: MAN CHEER YA LANG KAMO!

Okaaay. That was nice. We walked out. The worst thing is, they didn't give a damn. Pfft. So that's how they treat girls now? Okaay. So mga muher LANG kame? NICE.

4. It was a Friday and it was a half day so Lance and I went to grand stand together for the 3pm practice, as Coach William texted.

Oh yeah. It was raining again but since it rained last practice, we still decided to go at grand stand. Good thing when I arrived, Frantian, Fher and Arvey were already at the ZAFA office aka Coach William's headquarters.

To kill time, Lance and I went searching for Ganni Leaño [IV-Ignatius aka Greggi's twin brother], went up the bleachers to greet Lance's mom then went back at the ZAFA office. Then Coach set up cones at the field to play a game with small goals. We practiced under the rain and we were freezing cold.

At one point in the game, after our team has scored a goal, Coach William did a direct kick and the ball flew right into my head and knocked me down. It hurt, yeah. I practically flew downwards. HAHA. It was embarrassing. HAHA.

Later that night, I had fever. AGAIN. And my whole body was aching.

5. Yesterday's Soccer practice was held at Tumaga. Frantian gm-ed that we were supposed to attend to guarantee our entry at the team. Good thing PE was cancelled so most of us girls were able to come except for Cristy who had to attend to her Punlaan demands and Suzzy, who was too lazy to practice. HAHA

Coach divided us into two teams.

First team: Erold Bumotad, Arvin Navarro, RJ Petate, Frantian Castro, Anjo Taclob, Penpen Go, Marlwan Tugusan, Mara Capalad, Marla Hablo, Paula Villalobos, Kathryn Tarroza and myself.

Second team: Lance Jimenea, Dodge Jimenea, Ganni Leaño, Paul Harina, Abro Katoh, Abdul Nacan, Bill Hablo, Lau [I fopgot his family name], Kawaguchi [I forgot his first name], Mark Bugante's brother and two first year kids whose names I don't even know.

Coach made all girls fullbacks except for myself. It was scary.

The final score was 2-1. The second team scored first but we catched up in medias res. The second goal was a CHAMBA since the opposing team accidentally made their own goal.

While we were doing our cool down, a itsy bitsy little frog leaped near my foot and I instinctively screamed. It was EMBARRASSING.
